Our Doctors at Pinjarra Chiropractic treat each client individually depending on their health demands. Some of these types of treatment include:

Manual/Diversified Spinal and Extremity Adjustment.

Traditional manual based therapies to which a high velocity low amplitude thrust is applied to the joint to restore segmental range of motion. The chiropractor will feel these segments of your body, usually with laying down on the treatment table. It is not uncommon that a small cavitation (shift of fluid and gas within the joint capsule) is heard once the thrust is applied to the area. The sound that this segment may make is not a measure of efficacy of the thrust. This is gentle and tailored to the patient depending on their health demands. At Pinjarra Chiropractic, we may combine this type of treatment with other therapies as listed below to ensure a maximal treatment outcome.

ABC (Advanced Bio-Structural Correction)

This technique was created by Dr Jesse Jutkowitz and focusses on postural correction. This is a protocol delivered to the whole body and applied to joints which cannot self correct their segmental range of motion. This works through your body's history of trauma, unlocking areas of tension and damage and correcting the movement and stability. More information regarding this technique is available under the links tab on the webpage.

Neurolink

This is a system which focusses on the scientific principal that the brain is communicating effectively with the body's physiology. This is a protocol which will test areas of your body to identify which signals are being impeded from your brain to your body, and restoring them. More information regarding this technique is available under the links tab on the webpage.

Instrument assisted adjustment

This is a bracket of techniques including Activator, biomechanical blocking and drop piece therapies. An activator is an instrument only used by a chiropractor which delivers a consistent low force thrust into a joint with decreased segmental range of motion. it is a spring loaded tool that delivers a much quicker thrust than other methods and can be used on a patient who finds it difficult to relax during an adjustment. As the depth of the thrust is controlled on a variable setting, this can be used in  smaller joint areas such as feet and wrists, children and people with a decreased bone density. Drop piece therapies are conducted on a specialised table to which is made from separate cushions. When a thrust is applied to a joint, these cushions drop away to dissipate the force of the thrust. Biomechanical blocking is a technique using wedged cushions which may be placed under the patients hips to equalise muscle tension and postural patterns.

Soft Tissue Techniques

This includes  but not limited to trigger point therapy (a nodule of tightened tissue in a band of taut muscle which is released by finger pressure to restore flexibility and laxity in the muscle body), cross friction techniques (relaxing adhesions in painful areas of muscle hypertonicity) and remedial massage.

Kinesiology (Sports) Taping

Our preferred kinesiotape is Rocktape. This type of tape is used by many healthcare professionals worldwide. The tape is engineered to mimic the human skin and can stretch up to 180% of its length. When the tape is applied with little to no stretch this creates wrinkles in the tape which acts to decompress the tissue underneath. The tape can be applied for a variety of reasons including fluid drainage, functional stability and increased stretch. This is also available for purchase at the clinic in a variety of colours. Further information regarding this product can be obtained from the website in our links section of the webpage.

Rigid Taping

We use this taping type for acute injury management and sports preparation.
